a Fairy Tale under the Sky
Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu, with grey-tile dwellings and glass curtain walls, is a low-density place symbolizing freedom and openness. A little fox, Ali, comes out of picture books and tells the most touching urban stories. On December 4, the adorable Ali will come to Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu for the new-year special exhibition “Ali • A Fairy Tale under the Sky” for you, which will be open to the public for one month. It will be a good place for you to celebrate the Christmas Day and the Spring Festival. 13 sets of large Ali installations will be displayed at Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu to form a dreamy and fairy world that combines traditional and modern life for the busy urbanites. In addition, a series of interactive experience activities will also be held. This is a creative attempt for installation arts in picture books to enter the public space, a sparkling crash between buildings and arts, and an echoing between installations and spaces. Ali, who always warms and heals us, makes Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu rather different with hope and love.
Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu tries to seek for childlike innocence together with Ali.
The lamplight avenue interspersed by cartoon figures, 8-metre high digital Christmas tree, glittering crystal balls, cute pandas, yellow ducks in rows, and jingling carousel remind people of their childhood memories which are now easily accessible here, real and happy. On the evening of December 4, Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu will be decorated as a fairytale town, where Ali installation art exhibition will be kicked off in front of numerous audiences, and the brilliant lights will successively light up the sky over Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu.
The 13 sets of theme installations specially presented for the citizens of Chengdu at Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu are displayed in three plazas of the shopping complex, among the landmark buildings. In the unique style combining traditional and modern life, they have integrated imagination and reality to present an aesthetic contrast in the low-density space within a high-density city. In addition to the main installation, Time, in the East Plaza, the giant installation, Wish, with a two-story height, stands as the highest in this exhibition. The giant installation is 8 meters high built in a “Jenga” manner, coordinating with the “Hibiscus City” created by Jenny Pickford, an international famous artist, specially for Chengdu. The Carousel located at Temple Plaza is the most popular funfair for Ali and its friends, slowly turning around to the music and rendering the softest melody deep inside your heart.
Have Great Fun with Ali and Enjoy a Slow Fairytale Life
The sky always symbolizes our aspiration for freedom and dream. However, with the development of urban civilization, the busy tempo of urban life has constantly narrowed the sky over our head. Therefore, we begin to recall how large the sky was before and wonder whether we could rediscover the lost fairy tales. Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu will make our dreams no longer just dreams.
The openness under the sky makes various scenes of urban life possible. The delightful shopping experience, carefree party time, unique street snap, casual talks and stroll and cross-cultural arts create the vivid living scenes in the centre of the city. What the fast and slow lane of Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu bring us is not only the collection of selected brands, but also the concept of “Play Fast Live Slow”. The modern and fashionable “Fast Lane” brings leading thoughts and colorful life, while the “Slow Lane” promotes the philosophy of “Slow Life”, a comfortable life pace, optimistic mentality, showing us the secret of slow life. Traveling between the quick and slow life, we could meet Ali at the streets of Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu to seek for hope and love, where we could discover our own affection and wonder.
It is worth mentioning that Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu has added more touching details for this exhibition. In addition to the exploration about the “present” artistic concepts, Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu also shares beautiful moments with the audience. “We have set a password for each theme. The audience can take photos with Ali, and more importantly, can listen to the decoded story with Ali.” According to the responsible person of Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu, the password for each set is a two-dimension code. You can listen to a warm fairy tale from the adorable Ali only by scanning the code and writing back the key words. In addition, there is an elaborate indoor exhibition hall of picture books and an Ali studio that are the extension of the installation arts. The fairytale houses decorated with little trees and clouds will offer you the pleasure from the picture books when you enter the world of Ali.
This New-Year special exhibition lasts from December 4 to January 4, 2015. In the following weekends, you can seek for fairy tales at Sino-Ocean Taikoo Li Chengdu with you beloved ones and pick up those beautiful things which have disappeared in urban life.
