Established in 2010, UENO was originated with the passion of Ziggo, the founder of the brand, for eyewear fashion and his fanaticism in collecting trendy eyewear artwork from all parts the world. Once on his trip in Japan, with serendipity Ziggo had the honour of visiting some local handcrafting eyewear workshops and encountered a few respectable craftsmen in the industry. This unique experience led Ziggo to the realisation that against the time backdrop of modern industrialisation, Japanese craftsmen still persist in practicing the traditional handcrafting workmanship in their making of delicate eyewear. The perfection-pursuing professionalism and artisan spirit of the Japanese craftsmen deeply moved and inspired him. In shape contrast with Japan, the domestic eyewear fashion industry in China was still mostly dominated by heavily marketed luxury brands and presented an overt lack of products with outstanding characteristics and belief in the traditional artisan craftsmanship. Acknowledging the gap in the industry, Ziggo came to the decision of establishing the UENO brand to present classy eyewear that are sought with his own connoisseur taste to eyewear fashion chasers. Since the establishment of the brand, UNEO has been committed to seeking eyewear created by prestigious designers with originality from different regions of the world for fashion lovers that share the same passion.
